MORE than 30 parents and children took part in Ottery's Dance Action for Youth walk.

The event is to raise money for the dance classes to enable children of all backgrounds and abilities to take part.

Teacher Janet Forbes said the aim of the fund was to make it affordable to everyone and added: "The money will go into a children's fund to buy costumes for events and so parents don't have to pay any more than the term fees.

"I do want to stress that this class is for children of all ages and abilities, regardless of their experience. All they need is to show enthusiasm and willingness. We currently have two Down's syndrome children who really enjoy it and get a lot out of it. We would like more boys."

Janet has about 50 children on her books, and classes are held at The Station Youth Centre on Saturday mornings for aged three and up, from 9.10am to 1pm, with teenagers' classes held from 5.45pm to 7.30pm on Thursdays at the Old Boys' School.
