Members need a little help from their friends as they launch fundraising bid
Sidmouth Town Band will stage a concert tonight (Friday) at 8pm in the United Reformed Church to officially launch its bid to raise the £350,000 needed to finance a new rehearsal room for the group.
To mark the occasion, members of the award-winning group recreated the Beatles’ iconic Abbey Road album cover - swapping the titular location for Temple Street.
The free evening of entertainment will feature a mixture of new music and old favourites, as well as exciting news about the Last Night of the Proms.
The newly-formed Friends of the Band has already gained some 50 supporters.
