Comedy Rocks star Jason Manford praises Sidmouth slimming group leader at Slimming World awards

COMEDIAN Jason Manford has praised Sidmouth slimmers for challenging themselves to lose weight.

He made the comments after meeting Sharon Grove, who manages Sidmouth’s Slimming World groups, at the company’s annual awards in Birmingham to celebrate its most successful slimmers.

Pictured with Sharon, Jason* said: “Presenting the Slimming World Awards was a real honour. I was blown away by the achievements of all of the slimmers who joined us on stage.

“Throughout the day I met so many inspirational people, not only the slimmers collecting awards but also the amazing people like Sharon who run and manage the groups and help them achieve so much. It’s literally changed their lives beyond all recognition.

“I know keeping weight in control is a challenge for a lot of us…and I think the people of Sidmouth are very lucky to have people like Sharon who are clearly dedicated to helping slimmers and to have such great support networks on their doorstep.

The 8 Out of 10 Cats panellist certainly scored 10 out of 10 with Sharon, who said meeting him at the awards ceremony was the perfect ending to an extraordinary year for Slimming World.

She said: “At this time of year lots of people will be making New Year’s resolutions and pledging to lose weight, and we’d love anyone who wants to make a change to come along and join us.”
