Sidmouth Conservative Club celebrated St Patrick’s Day by presenting a cheque for £1,700 to a town charity.

The club raised the money for its nominated cause, Sidmouth Hospiscare, throughout the year by holding coffee mornings, an auction night and a fashion show.

Dr. Gill Ryall, CEO of Sidmouth Hospiscare, said: “Thank you so much for choosing Sidmouth Hospiscare as your charity of the year and for raising such an amazing amount of money. As the only charity offering specialist palliative cares to patients in the Sid Valley with life-limiting illnesses, and with the increasing need for our services, links like this with the community are so important and for raising awareness of the services we can offer.

“This money also enables us to continue to provide nursing and volunteer support to all patients, carers and families.”
