FRIDAY 13 is notorious for bad luck and in the case of a Sidmouth policeman the fateful date last month proved true.
PC Adam Johnson was called to number 13 in a Sidmouth street following a report that someone was unwell in the house.
A well meaning neighbour showed PC Johnson the front door of the house and he forced his way in. But once in he realised he had broken into the wrong house.
The embarrassed policeman then broke into the right property and the person was given the treatment they needed.
Sergeant Andy Turner, of Sidmouth Police, said: "This left a red faced officer who immediately arranged for the damage to both doors to be repaired.
"This is another example of things that can go wrong on Friday 13. Policeman are human beings and we are not perfect.
