HOUSEHOLDS in the Sidmouth and Ottery areas are set to receive their council tax bills for the next financial year on Thursday.

East Devon District Council (EDDC) has reminded residents with questions that information is available from a number of sources.

“To save you time, have a look through this year’s council tax guidance booklet, produced jointly by EDDC and its partner authorities which accompanies this year’s bills. It explains where the money goes and makes it easier for householders to understand the charging system and the ways in which people can get help with payments,” said a council spokesperson.

Residents can also visit EDDC’s website at http://www.eastdevon.gov.uk or call (01395) 517 446 for help.

“Please be aware that this is a very hectic few weeks for staff in EDDC’s council tax service with some 60,000 bills being issued, so telephone lines may be busy and we’d ask you to be patient if you can’t get through first time,” added the spokesperson.
