TWO men were arrested following an alleged incident in Sidmouth where counterfeit notes were attempted to be passed as genuine.

PCSO Jay Pepper was alerted to the suspected crime which happened in the town centre on Saturday.

Police officers were then called to arrest the men.

A spokesperson confirmed the notes have been sent for testing.
