HOUSING cheats will be targeted in an East Devon crackdown on fraudsters.

EAST Devon District Council (EDDC) has asked for public support to help track down culprits.

The council wants to crack down on unlawful subletting, those who obtain housing by deception, and wrongly claimed succession, where fraudsters take advantage of a tenant's death.

Members of the public have been asked to be vigilant and contact EDDC in confidence on (01395) 517494, or e-mail fraud@eastdevon.gov.uk, if they see anything suspicious.
