MINIBEASTS were guests of honour at Branscombe Primary School last week.
Children met the little critters as part of an eco day, in which they examined the compost bin habitat and the herbivores and carnivores that have adapted to the environment.
Pupils also investigated materials-building on an activity earlier in the year when they met Recycler the Robot.
A rubbish 'feelie' bag allowed children to explore the properties of materials before they decided if they were recyclable.

All morning activities were run by Sally Jackson, of Devon County Council's Resource Futures.
In the afternoon Class Two started their local community project for 2009, building on their earlier work on plastics in which they designed a reusable bag.
