Crews called to tackle bus fire in Sidmouth

A bus caught fire in Sidmouth earlier today (Tuesday).

Emergency services were called out following reports of flames billowing out from an engine of a bus, on Arcot Road near Winslade Road at about 12.45pm.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said two crews from Sidmouth attended.

On arrival firefighters used one hose reel to extinguish the fire and one thermal imaging camera to ensure the bus was safe.

Police also attended the incident and the road was partially block for around 40 minutes. Traffic has now returned to normal.
