A successful quiz evening hosted by Devon County Cricket Club (DCCC) has raised £320 for Sidmouth Hospiscare.

The club donated the proceeds from a raffle to the charity, following the event at Sidmouth Cricket Club last month.

The team is keen to support community projects and will be raising money for the Admiral Nurse Campaign, the David Shepherd Cricket Trust and Sidmouth Hospiscare, during a series of three-day county matches at Sidmouth Cricket Club, starting on Sunday.

Robert McIlwraith, a trustee of Sidmouth Hospiscare, said the charity was grateful for the donation.

He added: “Both the funds provided and the awareness of Sidmouth Hospiscare raised, through events like this, allow us to continue to support the people of our town.”
