Salcombe Regis Fair is underway with hundreds of visitors enjoying glorious sunshine and a range of stalls.
The volunteer-run event opened its gates this afternoon (Thursday, June 1) with a host of crafts, games and activities to boost three Sid Valley causes.
Established 45 years ago, the event has since raised nearly £200,000 for a wide range of local charities and this year it will be the turn of the East Devon Parkinson’s Disease Sufferers Support Group, Sidmouth Living with Cancer and the Admiral Nurse Campaign. At 2pm, the church bell rang to signal the start of the annual fair with visitors eager to snag a bargain and browse open gardens the church grounds.
Crafts on display include lace making, courtesy of Sidmouth Museum, willow working and wood carving and the event’s popular flower displays in the church.
Free transport has been provided to the car park at Salcombe Regis Recreation Field and, back by popular demand, music from Memory Lane.
