Dancers in pink for charity

YOUNG dancers in Sidmouth have gone pink in support of breast cancer research.
Members of Sidmouth Ballet School and East Devon Dance have been attending classes as normal this week, but wearing pink and making donations to Cancer Research UK. The best-dressed get breast cancer badges.
The annual ‘in the pink’ event has personal significance for school partner Lucie Welsman.
She said: “My mum died of ovarian cancer and everyone’s been touched by cancer in some way, so its important to support the research that goes on.”
Pictured are members of the school newest group, EDD’s Dance Crew, comprising 10 girls and two teachers.
“We’re going to try as many styles of dance as possible, so that if we get asked to do variety shows or other events, we can,” said Lucie.
They will be taking part in Sidmouth Living with Cancer’s variety nights at the Manor Pavilion later this month. For more information call (01395) 577088.
