ShelterBox launches children’s book about world disasters

A CHARITY, which will benefit from sponsorship raised through this year’s Sidmouth Swimathon, has launched a new children’s book to increase awareness of world disasters to children.

ShelterBox has published The Day the Rain Came, which was illustrated by children and also by renowned author and illustrator Michael Foreman, writes Joy Ng.

Mother of one of the child illustrators said: “It’s a great way to make children in this country more aware of the world and why shelter is important.”

The book is now available to purchase for 5.99 at www.shelterboxshop.org.uk. All proceeds go towards ShelterBox disaster relief work.
