Devon County Council take action over Ottery travellers

MONDAY, JULY 28 -TRAVELLERS were given their marching orders by Council officials last week after setting up home in an Ottery car park.

Around 13 vans and caravans, appeared in the Land of Canaan car park on Wednesday, July 16.

Devon County Council's gypsy liaison officer was contacted at 10am the following day and within an hour civil enforcement officers, police officers and the district council's car parks manager had arrived at the scene.

Vacation notices were handed to the group who left the land mid-morning on Friday, July 18.
