A trio of charities have been boosted by Devon County Cricket Club following a successful raffle.
Sidmouth Hospiscare, the Sid Valley Memory Café and the David Cricket Trust received a share of £235 raised by the club on Saturday. It’s members launched a scheme last year to boost local causes by holding a raffle during its fixtures at Sidmouth Cricket Club.
David Thornley, of Devon CC, said the club was on its way to exceeding last year’s total of £770.
He said: “Last year saw the launch of an initiative to raise the profile of Devon County Cricket, an important part of which is the forging of links with voluntary bodies active in the communities in which county fixtures are staged.”
The next event will be held at the cricket club during Devon CC’s three day championship fixture against Cheshire from July 2 to July 4.
