A Devon for Europe street stall in Sidmouth on Saturday (April 21) featured an eye-catching and attention-grabbing polling device - the ‘Brexitometer’.
The group says the message to East Devon MP Sir Hugo Swire was ‘unequivocal’ and ties in with recent polling right across the Westcountry: “Brexit will not be good for the country, the NHS or the economy and the people want a vote on the final deal with the option to remain.”
Devon for Europe claims ‘the will of the people is an evolving beast and it has moved on dramatically since June 2016’.
Visitors to the stall signed up to the campaign for a #PeoplesVote and filled in postcards asking local MPs to put a stop to Brexit.
Devon for Europe volunteer Lisa Simpson, said: “Notwithstanding the fact that Sidmouth was a Leave town, there were plenty of people exasperated with the madness that is Brexit, fully behind a People’s Vote or anything that will put a stop to Brexit and very happy and grateful to see us there. The tide is on the turn.”
