Libraries in Devon are reducing their rental fees on DVDs throughout December as well as offering the chance to win a blu-ray player.

Top titles which include the latest blockbusters as they're released, will be just £3 and general titles £2. Children's and special interest titles remain the same and can be rented from as little as £1 along with TV series box sets which will be £4.

As well as this special reduction on price, library members will be able to have two weeks for the price of one for any DVD taken out between December 17 and 24 inclusive. Once watched, DVDs can be returned to any library in Devon.

And to top it off, new users joining their local library, will be able to enter a free prize draw to win a blu-ray player. Blu-ray players are the next generation in DVD technology which produce a high definition image, increased sound quality and the nearest thing to cinema quality pictures at home.

For a chance to win, new members need to join the library for free, (proof of name and address needed) fill in the voucher provided and borrow an item by January 30, 2009.

Devon County Councillor and Executive Member for Culture, Sheila Hobden says; "This sounds like perfect timing for the long winter nights and I'm sure lots of people will take advantage of this offer. Our libraries stock a wide selection of films, television programmes and special interest titles so I'm sure there'll be something to suit everyone. It's also especially good for box-sets which may take a little longer to watch particularly over Christmas
