This interestingly parked mobility scooter raised a few eyebrows at a Sidmouth supermarket on a busy bank holiday Sunday.

The nippy vehicle took up a full space in the middle of the car park at Waitrose

But branch bosses said they would never prevent anyone with a disability from accessing the shop or parking a mobility scooter wherever is necessary.

Deputy manager Tony Newman said: “We wouldn’t put any barrier in the way for a disabled person to park wherever they want.”

He reminded shoppers that scooters are also allowed in the store.
