SIDMOUTH residents will be among 2500 people from East Devon to be sent questionnaires asking for their views on what it is like living in the area.

They are being sent out by East Devon District Council on behalf of all public services covering health, the police and the fire brigade.

The residents have been selected at random and are due to receive the questionnaires at the end of this month.

The survey will ask for residents' views on a wide range of issues including if they feel safe, if they are pleased with the refuse and recycling services and what they think needs improving.

The information gathered will be compared to other parts of the country.

Stuart Hughes, the district council's portfolio holder, said: "Once all the results are back, we will let people know what the residents of East Devon have said and what is being done.
