‘Yes’ to derelict building tranformation
A DERELICT garage on Sidmouth’s outskirts will be replaced with a new donkey reception unit. The Donkey Sanctuary has been given the go-ahead to carry out works at Woods Farm. Blueprints said the existing garage is “beyond repair”. Its replacement along with a woodchip exercise area will provide donkey housing for all year round use and will be used as a reception unit for the intake of donkeys. The unit’s main entrance will be on the B3176, which links Ottery St Mary to the Bowd Inn. Donkey bedding and exercise areas, an open concrete yard, and staff toilets feature in plans. The site will not be open to the public.
