A double celebration was held for a Sidmouth lady, who was born on the same day as the queen, this week.

As well as marking Diana Davis’ 92nd birthday, Rose Lawn Care Home also opened its doors for a special open day on Saturday.

The birthday girl was joined by 27 of her fellow residents and welcomed people into the home which was holding the event that aimed to emphasise the importance of care homes connecting with local communities and developing relationships.

There was also a special cake cutting ceremony which was attended by Councillor Ian McKenzie-Edwards.

Georgie Patch, Rose Lawn’s manager, said: “The open day is a lovely way for friends and family to experience how we help our residents to enjoy their life the way they want, helping them to keep their own routines, lifestyles and interests.

“The day gives us an opportunity to show the excellent services we offer.”
