An Ottery girl took home her own Dulux dog after winning a treasure hunt around the town during the Christmas light switch-on and late-night shopping.
Run by local DIY shop Abbotts, entrants had to follow the clues to each of the town’s various landmarks to find a code word which spelt out the phrase ‘Happy Christmas from all at Abbott’s’.
Dozens of children successfully took part in the event on Friday, November 30, but it was Laura Machin, from Ottery, whose name was drawn out of a hat to take home the prize of a toy Dulux puppy dog, which she picked up this week.
Event organiser Chris Abbott said: “It was a fantastic atmosphere around the town, and all the children really seemed to enjoy it, and we will definitely organise another event like this in future.”
