BRANSCOMBE Pre-school children have been making apple juice as part of their autumn-themed activites.
After collecting apples from the orchard, the children got the chance to try out the traditional apple press on loan at the village’s Bakery Tea Rooms.
They all had a go at turning the wheel to see how crushing the apples resulted in apple juice, which they were then able to drink at snack time.
“The children were extremely enthusiastic about every part of the process and especially keen to taste the results of their labours,” said pre-school assistant Catharine Willerton.
Other harvest time activities will include baking apple pies, picking blackberries and taking part in the Great Nut Hunt to look for evidence of dormice in Branscombe.
