A day of glorious weather added to a day of high spirits and friendly competition as Sidmouth Primary School held its Summer Fun Run at the Byes.

Around 110 runners competed on the day and the closely contested race was won by George Goodman, closely followed by Sam Harris and Rosie Kennedy.

The children were also let loose on a bouncy castle and cooled off with an ice cream from Taste of Sidmouth.

The creative mind of Flora Hadfield scooped her first place in the school’s fancy dress competition which won her a £10 voucher from Sports Republic.

The school’s Parent, Teacher and Friend Association expressed its thanks to Everys Solicitors for sponsorship, Sidmouth Running Club for helping set out the course and run the event and The Co-operative for providing water on the day.

The event raised about £700 which will go towards playground improvements at all three Sidmouth Primary School sites.
