Hooray for Ottery GCSE stars!
Students celebrate top grades at The King’s School
THERE was GCSE joy in Ottery on Tuesday as students at The King’s School celebrated a wonderful week of results with ‘best ever’ grades.
Teenagers proved a match for last Thursday’s top class A-level sixth formers as every student achieved at least five or more GCSEs or an equivalent.
Seventy-eight per cent of youngsters gained five or more A* to C grades, with 50 pupils bagging five or more A* or A marks.
Scores of achievers are now looking forward to becoming sixth formers, including top performer Maria Mylne, 16, who gained ten A*s and one A.
“It’s amazing, I can’t believe it. I was expecting to do well, but not that well,” she said.
“Oh my god!” said Luke Rutter as he opened his top results of nine A*s and two As. “I’m so excited I’m shaking now,” he said.
