An Ottery music competition to showcase the best young talent has become so popular organisers have had to split it over two nights.

The event has been an annual fixture in the town for 23 years, inviting entrants from schools across East Devon, and has expanded ‘significantly’ over the years.

The Rotary Club of Otter Valley, long-time sponsors of ‘Youth Presents Music’, said there will be two separate performances this year, one for vocalists on February 5, and one for instrumentalists on February 26.

The club is keen to stress it is a public performance, and invite as many people from Ottery to come along and watch the youngsters taking part.

As well as schools, other youth organisations, music groups, independent music teachers and parents are asked to enter their young musical artists to the competition.
