Despite sunburn, blisters and aching legs, all six teams from The King’s School completed the arduous Ten Tors challenge last weekend.

Teacher David Nicholson said students from across the Ottery academy took part in the three distance events across Dartmoor of 35, 45 or 55 miles.

The team which took on the longest challenge finished fourth overall, which Mr Nicholson said was ‘an amazing achievement’.

They arrived back to the finish line at 1pm, with the school’s final team coming in a couple of hours later after 48 hours out on the National Park.

David, a pastoral support worker, added: “All the students, although suffering from blisters, aching legs and sunburn, had a great time taking part in this unique challenge.”
