Pupils from The Kings School are ready to put months of training into action as they take on the Ten Tors challenge this weekend
There are 36 students representing the Ottery academy on the Dartmoor expedition, organised by the Army and designed to challenge young people over 35, 45 or 55 miles over two days.
Having started preparations back in December, the youngsters have been on day walks as well as two-night camps where they have learned important skills such as navigation, survival skills and wild camping as well as teamwork and determination.
Dave Nicholson, Pastoral Support Worker at The King’s, said: “This would not happen without the help and support of staff and volunteers who give up hours of free time to walk with and drive the support vehicles while the students train.”
