A preschool in Newton Poppleford has appointed a new leader and deputy as it gears up for celebrate 25 years in business.

Melanie Burns is now in charge of the rainbow group and Kelly Downs has been promoted to deputy play leader at the popular village pre-school in School Lane.

Children and staff are appealing for donations of Easter eggs to help with this year’s Easter Hunt on March 30, as it looks to make improvements ahead of celebrating its quarter-century.

Last year’s event raised more than £350 to replace play equipment after a burst pipe flooded the pre-school just before Christmas 2010.

This year the group need funds to replace some flooring and purchase new outdoor play equipment.

Any organisations, businesses or individuals who would like to make a donation should contact the pre-school on 01395 567131 or 07790 577384, or by emailing rainbowpreschool@mail.com.
