AROUND 80 Newton Poppleford Primary School students took to the stage this month with their production of Gel.
Audiences of more than 200 watched a pair of performances as Key Stage Two students performed a story in which rival gangs overcome their differences to work together and stage a successful theatrical performance.
Music Co-ordinator Katie Brown said the production had been an ‘overwhelming success’ and added: “The children were absolutely brilliant, they really rose to the occasion. It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved.”
Mrs Brown added: “More than a few audience members and parents said that it was the best primary school production they had ever seen.”
