Coleridge pre-school put on a Mother’s Day party and used it to help teach its charges about making plans.
The 25 children were taught about how decisions affect others apart from themselves and learned about making short-term future plans.
Manager Sue Scott said: “During the week they made little baskets of sweets and Mother’s Day cards, and on the day they made posies of flowers.”
The mums were invited to enjoy a mid-morning picnic with the children at the Jesu Street playgroup in Ottery last Friday.
