Play session proving popular in Ottery
A group which helps young children and their parents or carers socialise and play together has proved so popular it has had to move to a bigger venue.
The ‘Stay and Play’ session at Ottery St Mary Children’s Centre attracts 25 families every week for arts and crafts, physical play and other activities.
Originally held in the premises in Tip Hill, it was moved to the Old Boys School in Yonder Street as more and more parents and carers started bringing their kids to the sessions.
The Children’s Centre is run by Action for Children, and staff member Adam Daley said of its popularity: “I think people come because they feel its important for children under five to play with other children, and the parents enjoy socialising as well.”
