A FAMILY fun day in Branscombe saw popstars of the future hone their skills.

Part of the event, organised by Sidmouth and Ottery learning communities’ extended services coordinator Joel Smith, was a Popstars Academy. Youngsters learned dance routines and played with props including inflatable guitars, pom-poms and cowboy hats.

During the break in the three-hour session at the village hall, Joel arranged sporty games for the dozen participants. There was also an art and craft workshop running the whole time, for the children to dip in and out of.

Joel said: “The kids enjoyed themselves and families asked about other events they could go to, so it was a successful day.”
