VISITORS to Sidbury’s village fete next Saturday, June 16, won’t be left feeling deflated – as two bouncy castles will be on offer among a host of festivities.
The event, in the grounds of the village’s primary school, will also feature plants and produce stalls, cakes, bric-a-brac, clothes, books, CDs, jewellery, presents and bottles of all variety of content.
A soft toy tombola and a range of other sideshows and games will add to the fun.
A perennially popular and amusing human fruit machine, with its usual accompaniment of a range of sound effects will be there, as will the pig race where onlookers with a vested interest in a particular porker will no doubt generate their own sounds of encouragement.
The young pupils of the village school will play their part in the proceedings with a range of entertainments, and there will be children’s races and other activities like face painting.
In among all the activity, ice creams and a barbecue will help sustain energy levels whereas, for those in need of a gentler form of refreshment, in the village hall teas will be available throughout the afternoon.
Entrance to the fete is 50p for adults, and free for children. One of two bouncy castles is earmarked for under eights. The fun starts at 2pm.
