Green-fingered Year 10 students from Sidmouth College eat fruits of their labour
GREEN-FINGERED Year Ten students from Sidmouth College have grown a range of plants as part of their studies, which are then used in various aspects of school life.
Pictured are students taking responsibility for the school environment, planting some of the hundreds of geraniums they have grown into a newly-prepared bed outside the main steps and reception area of the college.
Other plants and bulbs grown this year include narcissus, tulips, crocus, pansies, primroses, begonias, nasturtiums, lettuces, eight varieties of potatoes, strawberries, raspberries and runner beans.
Last month, students were able to prepare and eat some of their produce in the form of cakes and jams. This month it is the turn of the potato crop to be made into a wide range of dishes.
