ST John’s International School in Sidmouth was more like Wall Street when students enjoyed a ‘capitalism day’.

The senior school event was reorganised to accommodate three oil traders from BP who introduced and hosted a two hour spectacular.

Thirteen teams of four students were each allocated roles as an analyst, accountant, trader and chairman.

Each had their individual tasks to perform as successive days’ news stories were gradually ‘fed’ to the trading floor. “Many thanks to nearly 60 participants as well as the entertaining and inspirational team from BP, who have promised to revisit next year and let us try again,” said deputy head Mike Burgess.
