RESIDENTS living close to St John’s School, Sidmouth, may want to keep their windows closed until the end of term.
Year Three boys are conducting an experiment looking at how to launch a rotten egg from an upper floor window and safely transport it, intact, on to the terrace below.
The pupils were given an envelope of resources to choose from, including string, balloons, stickytape and straws, to create their mode of transport
Deputy headteacher, Mike Burgess, said: “The fact they discovered it was a very smelly egg is indicative of the success of the mission. The boys have called a meeting to analyse what went wrong and will be making another attempt before the end of term.
