YOUNG runners at Sidmouth Primary School were awarded medals for taking on a half-marathon challenge.
Committed kids, who are members of the school’s running club, completed a mile a session over 11 weeks.
They then attended Exeter Arena on Great West Run Day to complete a further 2.1miles - reaching their 13.1mile half-marathon target.
Youngsters were handed accolades at a school assembly to mark their achievements.
Year five teacher Penny Newton said: “I’m very proud of them – they were very committed and came every week to run a mile. They had great fun on the day.”
