EMBARRASSED election officers had to re-issue postal voting statements to around 60 West Hill residents this week after they were sent to the wrong people.
Baffled residents, hoping to have their say in next week's county council elections, received statements intended for other people. Two hundred voters in Honiton voters were also affected by the problem.
A spokesman for East Devon District Council (EDDC), which sent out the documents, said: "Due to an administrative error, a number of correct ballot papers, but incorrect postal voting statements have been sent to some voters.
"There is a minor problem in West Hill, where we believe around 60 people are affected by the error.
"There is ample time to rectify the situation before polling day and we are already doing so as we hear from the public."
The Bank Holiday weekend meant residents could only alert the Sidmouth-based council to the issue on Tuesday.
