Beer Coastguard was tasked at 3.05pm on Wednesday (February 8) to assist paramedics with a woman after reports of a suspected overdose on Jacob’s Ladder beach, in Sidmouth.
Crew members located the casualty at the top of the path leading to the beach.
She was treated in the ambulance before being taken to hospital.
A Beer Coastguard spokesman said the incident was not connected to the search for Tanya Vickery, who was reported missing on Tuesday.
