Firefighters were called to reports of a vehicle fire in Sidford last night (Thursday).

Emergency services were called to the scene, in Church Street, at about 8.20pm.

One engine from Sidmouth attended and crews confirmed there was a small amount of smoke issuing.

Firefighters extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said duty of care was left with vehicle recovery.
