A Chief fire officer has praised the emergency services for their hard work after severe storms around Ottery this morning.

The Fire and Rescue Service worked together with the Police and the Coastguard to help evacuate approximately 25 people from Ottery St Mary and Feniton.

John Trelease, Fire and Rescue Incident Commander, said: "The three emergency services worked extremely well together to evacuate and rescue people from flooded properties.

"They were moved to Ottery Hospital and a holding area in Feniton.
