DESPITE the credit crisis, Endeavour Young Enterprise team from Sidmouth College hopes to tempt people with their range of Christmas cards this year.

The team is headed by Dan Gigg, who is currently setting up Giovani Youth Café in the town.

An interschool art competition had pupils designing the cards, which were then produced by Tracey Aplin and Hayley Delesalle of Sidford Print and Design.

Six winners were chosen, three from Sidmouth College: Jessica Leeds (Year 11), Oliver Down (Year 8), and Sarah Hunt (Year 7), and three from St. Nicholas: Elenya Madeley (Year 6), Bethany Nutting (Year 5), and Bayley Hitchens (Year 4).

Managing director Dan said: "Every single design we had in was brilliant, and choosing the winning six took us hours, with many arguments along the way.

"The group feels we have picked a fantastic selection of designs which will be hugely successful in such as competitive market."

So far around 1,200 cards have been sold from Flo & Us.

"I would like to give a huge thank you to everyone who has helped us in our quest in the Young Enterprise Challenge, a competition which we hope to win," said Dan, who thanked Easterbrooks, Flo & Us, The Tasty Baguette, Clintons Cards, Taste of Sidmouth, Your Move, Bay Hotel Suites, Lyme Regis, Sidmouth Garden Centre Restaurant, Sidford Print and Design and Papermoon.

The group hopes the public will buy their cards instead of mass-produced ones because they are unique to Sidmouth, especially Jessica Leeds' design of Jacobs Ladder with its seagulls.

Dan said: "Every penny spent will help raise the status of Sidmouth College's Enterprise Department in which Sue Hurley, Nicki Young, and Helen Preston all work so hard in order to provide brilliant resources for us."

The cards are on sale from Flow & Us at school fetes and fairs, including St Nicholas Christmas Fare on the December 11, and through Endeavour Young Enterprise at ndvrltd@gmail.com or through its website www.endeavourltd.webs.com.
