ESCAPED sheep caused quite a stir on the A3052 on Tuesday as alarmed drivers tried to negotiate the blocked road.
More than nine motorists contacted the police between 2.15pm and 3.30pm reporting the escape of the flock of sheep from a gap in the hedge of a field near the road in between Sidford and Seaton.
Police and members of the public tried put the sheep back in the field but they escaped several times.
Eventually the sheep were returned to the field, the farmer was located and the hedge was repaired.
