A 101-year-old horse-drawn steam pump will be one of the main attractions at this year's Fire Engine & Vintage Vehicle Rally and Country Fair.

The rally, which will be held on the Escot Estate on Sunday 28 June, will feature dozens of vintage fire engines and other vehicles, displays and other attractions.

Proceeds from the popular event, which usually takes place every two years, will go towards The Firefighters Charity.

Chief Fire Officer Lee Howell said: "The Service works hard to ensure that firefighters have the best vehicles and equipment to do their job.

"But we also value the proud history of our Service and have pride in our achievements.

"We would welcome the public to come to the rally and enjoy this glimpse into the past and entertainment from the present."

Vintage and modern fire appliances and other vehicles will be on display at the event. Other attractions include:

* Demonstrations of the 1908 St Giles Steam Pump drawn by two Percheron horses

* Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service Ceremonial Unit

* Steam engine rides

* Children's rides and entertainment

* Fair organs

* Refreshments

The cost for entry is 3 for adults, 8 for families (two adults and two children) and 2 for children and OAPs.

There will be a sneak preview of the vehicles on Saturday 27 June, at approximately 6.30pm, when the Vintage Vehicle Road Run starts at Escot Park and leads onto the Ironbridge off the old A30 to finish up at the Greyhound pub at Fenny Bridges. A trophy, sponsored by Mr and Mrs T Abbot of Abbots DIY, will be awarded for the best vehicle in the Road Run.
