A-LEVEL art and textile students from Sidmouth College have been showing off their exam work this week.
An exhibition of eight AS students' and nine A2 Year 12 student's coursework, completed since last September, was set out in the sixth form area on Tuesday for the moderator.
Year 13 students were asked to explore such themes as caricature, contrasting surface qualities, festivals and colour and took a 15-hour exam in May spread over two weeks.
Head of Art, Laura Oxley, said: "The other theme for the Year 13 work has been a more personal response, allowing students to develop independent thinking and come up with their own starting point.
"Some examples that have been investigated are abstract landscape, the colour red and the human body."
She hopes to put her students' work on display for the public to see.
Year 12 students have more structure to their schemes and are taught by Lynn Lamonde.
They have the chance to build up skills in their sketchbook for final ideas.
Mrs Oxley said: "There have been some stunning pieces which are very individual in this year's exhibition.
"It was commented on that students have explored a vast range of media such as sculpture, photography, paint, and print."
The college is starting a new photography A Level course from September.
