‘Bags for life’ turned into ‘cash for scouts’ as a Sidmouth store selected the youngsters as its charity of the year.

Proceeds from their sale at the Factory Shop went to the 1st Sid Vale Scouts, and collection tins at the till boosted the total to £652.

Scouts chairman Gareth Hughes said: “It’s been a tremendous effort and I, on behalf of the scout group, would like to thank manager Kevin Avery, his team and their customers for all their support.”

Anyone who would like to support the group can visit www.btplc.com/mydonate or call Gareth on 01395 515552.
