Stuart ‘ecstatic’ with new family-friendly venue
The highly-anticipated secret hiding inside a once-vacant Ottery town centre site will be revealed tomorrow (Saturday).
Businessman Stuart Miles and his small team have been working behind the closed doors of the former Millstone Bakery, which has been transformed into Tickety-Boo - a café and children‘s adventure play area.
The unique ‘fairytale’ vision was inspired by Stuart’s own three children - Rosie, Molly and Connor - and he hopes the new Mill Street family venue will help boost the whole community.
Speaking this week, the Ottregian said: “I’m absolutely ecstatic with how it turned out.Everything I dreamed of when I first came up with the idea, we have achieved and it’s down to 100 per cent effort the lads have put in. There is nothing I would change now.”
The venue – which features a handcrafted castle and tree house, a life-size replica of the famous Hansel and Gretel candy house and separate area for younger toddlers and babies - will officially be open tomorrow.
There are plans to host pop-up restaurant nights and a homework club.
