POLICE are warning Sidmouth residents to be on the look out for people passing counterfeit money as genuine. There have been a number of reports in Mid and East Devon areas of £10 and £20 fake notes circulating. A police spokesman said: "These notes may seem genuine but businesses and members of the public should take care when handling all notes." The suspect will either pass them as genuine when buying goods or more frequently they have asked members of the public to change the notes for smaller change. Anyone with information should contact the police on 08452 777444 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
